My baby Fights his sleep. What do I do?

Ahh, the clic case of the sleepless baby. He was sleeping well,all night. Yes I know I should be Thankful..I certainly am. Ever since he turned 3 months old, he wont sleep. He is so tired,its cute, with little bags under his eyes. He roots at my neck. I love it. But he wont sleep or stop crying. He has colic, so he is on Nutramigen. Eats 6 ounces every 3 hours,practically on the dot, by his choice. I burp him 1/2 way thru and after. He burps really good. He doesn't really ever spit up and when it does its tiny. prob, not even 1/2 a tea spoon. Swaddeling, holding, singing, reading, musical mobile, rainforest soother, swing, pacifier, nothing seems to work when he gets into this mode. I feel myself growing frusterated,knowing the baby can sense it,makes me be calm and loving with him during his episode, but I don't want to become angry with him or go back to smoking. The only thing I can think of is how to make him feel better and a freakin cigarette. What advice do you momma's have?
