This may seem stupid but is the ping damage from the Prodigal Sorcerer card in mtg colored or not?

a friend of mine says that everyone at the local card shop says that it won't be prevented if you had protection from blue , me and my other friends say its from a blue source so its prevented .so could you please tell where to find out when you answer so i can end the debate and go on with my life lol thank you.
