Confused, age difference, please help/:?

Im reallyy beginning to star liking this guy i met and his 18 while im 14.. i dont know because i like to think age is nothing but a number, but yet again i have seconds thoughts and i rethink. I mostly rethink it because many people say that at that age all they want is , but my bestfriend talked to him and he said no because hes still getting to know me. And he seems reallyy sweet. And well i dont know what to do, so please just tell me like good advice(:
