How long after Canada legalizes Marijuana(for adults) will the U.S. give up on prohibition?

Hopefully these archaic and pointless laws will soon change, but I expect the United States to be at least a decde behind Canada due to the ignorance of our public to the truth and the powerful right wing lobby that opposes any social change.
